The Zoo

Today we went to the zoo. We tried to leave early so we could escape the heat, but we didn't make it. We arrived at 9:30 and it was still too hot. Jana and Chris came with Gabi and Jack. We bought a membership to the zoo, so we can go back anytime we want. Fortunately for Daddy, we bought the kind that doesn't include two parents, since Daddy hates the zoo. The have reaaranged a lot of the exhibits, so it was like seeing an all new zoo. We also saw a bird show, which was very funny. We watched as a golden eagle perched on the top of an orangutan enclosure. The orangutan slowly climbed up to the eagle and was about to grab it when it flew away. The boys had a good time, though it was very hot. Bryson was the only one who had his own money there, so we spent time looking for ways to spend it. Austin and Isaac were very good and didn't beg at all for anything. Bryson chose a batter-operated hand fan, just like the kind his Daddy didn't want to take with him to Afghanistan. We left after 4 hours. We hadn't seen everything yet, but it was just too hot to be there anymore. We hope to go back on the next cool day.
